Great Plains Conservation is about reclaiming vast tracks of threatened land and returning them to nature; restoring the environment, rather than diminishing it.
Through the Joubert’s conservation company, Great Plains Conservation, they are able to identify and select key areas of wilderness that are under threat in Kenya, Botswana and Zimbabwe, and acquire the rights to convert this land into protected areas with economic benefits. For example, they convert hunting land or agricultural land into wildlife conservation areas supported by photographic tourism. The overarching theory is that without large protected landscapes where migration routes are maintained, the wildlife will not stand a chance of survival.
